De brandbare gasdetector is een brandbare gasdetector die reageert op de concentratie van enkelvoudige of meervoudige brandbare gassen. Er zijn twee soorten detectoren voor brandbaar gas: katalytisch type en infrarood optisch type. Katalytische brandbare gasdetector gebruikt de weerstandsverandering van vuurvaste platinadraad die wordt verwarmd om de concentratie van brandbaar gas te bepalen.
When the combustible gas enters the detector, it causes an oxidation reaction (flameless combustion) on the surface of the platinum wire. The heat generated increases the temperature of the platinum wire, and the resistivity of the platinum wire changes.
